Summer in Toronto is amazing.
There's the Island. Which is so much fun especially if you go in the week when it's not teeming with kids and sticky ice cream paws. Not that I have anything against either. I do like me a quiet carousel ride, mind you, and I want to ride the bunny. And I don't want to have to fight any crying kid to ride said bunny. Which I will. If I have to. Because the bunny rocks.

Sunday is Spain vs. Italy. I expect nothing but chaos.
Also Toronto is just park loveliness. I went on a prolonged dog walk with lez friends in High Park on the weekend and I was sure at any point in time a gnome was going to jump out and give me a bag of gold.
It didn't happen, but I'm going back this week so cross your fingers.
One thing I did get was a fabulous grant from the Writers Trust of Canada. The Dayne Ogilvie Grant.
Which is sponsored by the equally fabulous Robin Pacific. I got La Honorable Mention, and a nice cheque. The winner was filmmaker, performance artist, writer Amber Dawn.

For the Instagram curious who have been following my photos, I am currently staying at the Feminist Art Gallery in Parkdale. It is pretty amazing to sleep eat and work in a house surrounded by incredible art. As part of my day to day tasks, I am collecting a series of creepy eye portraits for Lisa Brown back in San Francisco.
In other news, this summer I'll be doing a bit of stand up around Toronto.
On July 25th I'll be at Slack Alice on Church Street.
And.... drum roll please... on August 10th (7:30 pm) I'll be at The Flying Beaver Pubaret with my new show with the amazing Heather Gold.
The show is called I Just Love That I'm So Into You.
You should come and see it.
And, last but not least, my new book (You) Set Me on Fire is out in book stores end of August. Thanks to Penguin Canada for being so sweet and amazing.
I have first chapter links if you want to read, let me know.
You can find info on this and other Razorbill books here.
I'll be doing a bunch of stuff online to promo the book, and also just because there's some little related projects I want to do, so stay tuned.
If "stay tuned" is something people still do.
